What are the standard garden shed sizes?
The size you require will depend upon what will you be using your shed for. If it is for bikes and small storage then a smaller 6x4 ft apex or pent shed will be enough.
However if you have more than just this, such as a number of tools and materials then it is worth considering at least a 6ft to 10x6 ft shed.
The larger standard shed sizes are 16-20ft in length and are most often used for garden plants and equipment.
Treated Heavy Duty Wood
Wooden sheds blend naturally into their backdrop more so than other sheds, due to their raw appearance. Our sheds are made from the finest European timber, that has been grown slowly and sustainably. Tongue and groove throughout ensures for a secure and professional appearance, with heavy duty framing.
Toughened Safety Glass
Toughened safety glass as standard, so that the windows are prevented from breaking easily. The window sills are PVC to stop water ingress.
Whats more, all sheds come with galvanised ironmongery, which means all the hinges and turn buttons are of the highest quality, minimising oxidisation to last longer.
Apex & Pent Roof Types
There are two common shed roof types - apex and pent. Whilst apex sheds provide more of a focal point, pent sheds are more efficient with the space they use.
Apex are the type you used to see more commonly, with a high ridge running though the middle of the shed to create a sloped roof. This provides a traditional appearance, with water running down both sides.
Pent roofs are becoming more popular, as they provide more of a modern look. Typically a basic structure shape, they have a roof that tends to slope from the back of the shed down to the front at one angle.
Our one-stop-shop for sheds, means that we provide the highest quality sheds that can easily be assembled without the need for professional assistance. All you need is the passion to want to build your own shed that will last for years to come.
Garden Shed Uses
Garden space is becoming ever so more important in recent years, which has lead to people across the UK utilising their shed. There are a vast number of reasons for doing so but we highlight the main reasons for shed usage, as we hope to provide inspiration if needed:
Sheds are used for various purposes, including:
a workshop for all those important tools - the ideal workstation really, all you need is a light for the evenings or winter months. There are many inventive and exciting ways of storing your tools, which makes owning a shed fun in figuring out how you want to use its space.
a potting shed or greenhouse - although their purpose is not to grow plants in all year around, they still provide the basic needs of plants - warmth, light and water (by yourself of course). You tend to be best bringing those plants in that may struggle through winter, or those seedlings near the window in spring for a kick start to growth.
storing gardening equipment - the main reason sheds were built, to store those gardening tools in so you didn't have to keep them inside. Not much has changed either in recent years, in regards to storing your gardening equipment.
an office or studio - a quiet get away can be of any size and the room really is of what you make it You can kit the space out with electric lights and plugs, so that you can spend all day to yourself. With a variety of shed designs available, you can plan where you need your windows and entrance so that you are working in the best lighting.
a child's playhouse - I don't think we really need to say anymore, as we've all been there. If its a quiet space to make a den and hide from adults then its the perfect playhouse.
