Plancha style fire cooking, on a heavy-duty steel ring over a fire pit, delivers great flavour. The hot flat grill sears uniformly, producing a tasty crust while locking in moisture. The plancha ring has both plate and grill areas, so that you can also chargrill for a BBQ finish. The Plancha Fire Pit has an 80cm fire bowl and is a hip height model, perfect for keen fire chefs, and even better to gather around.   

For use with seasoned wood or charcoal, heat up the flat Plancha grill and pour a few drops of water onto the surface to check that it’s ready for action.  If the water forms beads then you’re ready to sizzle. Marinate your food rather than add oil to the surface, and dissolve cooking juices using vinegar, wine, soy sauce or lemon. You can scrape the juices off then and add to your dishes.   

The Plancha is made from quality British steel including a 8mm steel grill plate and 3mm steel fire pit which oxidises as it settles into your garden, developing a rich rusty patina. The rust does not affect the longevity of the fire pit. Using a lightly flavoured cooking oil and a good blast with the fire will help keep the cooking surface rust free!
