Claverton Cloches Traditional Victorian Garden Cloche

Claverton Cloches are based on original English Victorian garden cloches dating to the 1870s. Each cloche frame is cast in iron in a English foundry, then galvanised and powder coated. The team at Claverton then cut all the glass by hand and hand-glaze each frame using horticultural glass and traditional putty.

Cloches inherently achieve greater, earlier, faster and out-of-season production than open ground growing. They work in the same way as a greenhouse and are ideal if you want large and continuous crops. Because cloches warm the soil beneath them, plants develop much quicker; it's possible to achieve two or three crops per season instead of one!

Cloches provide complete protection from birds, dogs, cats, rabbits and slugs. One of the great advantages of cloches is that plants grown under them are not attacked by pests and diseases in the same way as outdoor plants and there's no need for chemical deterrents either - perfect for organic growers.
